From the host team:
Please note that all who enter the VMAC must wear a facial covering. Athletes may ONLY remove their facial covering when they are in the water and on the blocks. All others must wear a facial covering at all times while inside the facility. Each team will have an assigned area on the pool deck where they can place their belongings (LOCKER ROOMS WILL BE AVAILABLE). Athletes and coaches must enter the facility at the designated time. An athlete may not enter without their coach and must enter at the time designated. Participating athletes (relay alternates included), coaches (head coach and up to two assistants), school administrators and manager/timers will be the only people allowed on deck. A relay declaration card is attached to this email and you will hand this card to the scorer’s table when entering the venue.
Athletic Directors may come into the facility and watch from the bleachers (sign in with your courtesy card) or the pool deck (must check in with Whitney).
All athletes must be accompanied by a coach who is under contract for your school AND who is registered per CHSAA. This coach must be on-site to act as the legal and liable individual in charge of these athletes. Without this coach, your athletes will not be allowed into the pool.
Gatelist
Each team will list their head coach and two assistant coaches on this google form: https://forms.gle/hHXMoELDfStkknw29. Teams will get one manager who must also be available to potentially time for the whole session (swim prelims and finals). If your manager is not available to potentially act as a timer, do not include them on the Gatelist (they will be removed from the swim deck if they are asked to time and are not available to do so). If you have one interested in prelims and one in finals, we will let them switch. Additional people may be added to the Gatelist ONLY if they are available to time. Please reach out to me directly if you have someone that needs to be added and is able to time.
On Deck Reminders
Athletes are responsible for cleaning up their “campsite” on the deck after each session. Schools will have an assigned spot on the deck.
Everyone in the VMAC MUST wear a facial covering at all times when not in the water or on the starting block.
Please remind athletes that the chairs on deck are for coaches or officials only.
The exit doors must remain clear/closed at all times. Any athletes/coaches/timers opening these doors to allow unauthorized people on deck will be disqualified from the meet.
Awards Ceremony
During Finals, the awards ceremony will take place immediately after each event. Swimmers are asked to exit as quickly as possible and move over to the awards stand area. We will award 1st-10th place with a medal. Diving awards will take place immediately after the conclusion of the event.
