Hi All!
It was great to meet many of you today. I plan to do a more formal follow up, but wanted to get this information passed along ASAP, as it starts tomorrow (we formalized the details and schedule today, sorry about the last minute notice). As mentioned today, we’ve put together a pre-season partnership with Evergreen Hurricanes swim team to allow swimmers to get in the water a few days a week before the season starts. Brian Pursley, the head coach, provided me with the following details today: High School Prep Clinic will run 3 weeks, October 25th through November 11th. Practices will be: Tuesdays 7:00-8:30pm Thursdays 7:00-8:30pm Fridays 5:00-7:00pm We will work on technique and fitness to give them a head start to the beginning of the high school season. The cost will be $150.00. They are welcome to a free practice before committing, but can register any time under the events section of our website, or by clicking here. Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks, Steve Steve Schneiter has sent a message on TeamSnap.
Hi all! (I sent the following email directly from my email yesterday, but wanted to send through TeamSnap as well just in case it got lost in spam or anything like that). I'm Steve Schneiter, the new head coach for Evergreen Girls swimming. Great to meet all of you! Lisa sent out an email / message from Team Snap earlier this week, but I wanted to connect directly as well. Sorry you're just now hearing from me, I've been in the background getting up to speed with everything needed for the upcoming swim season. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you at our pre-season meeting on Monday October 24 at 2:45pm in the library. Swimmers and parents are welcome. We are also considering hosting another parent-specific meeting at a time that may be easier for more parents to attend - please let me know if you'd like to have that option available. We are still working out the final details for the season, but we'll be ready to discuss in detail at the meeting. However, one thing that everyone will absolutely need to do is register for swimming at https://evergreenhs-ar.rschooltoday.com/home. I also wanted to share a bit about my background, just to give some context. I grew up swimming in Colorado Springs, for CSST (now a part of COSA), and swam in high school for Coronado High School and 3 years of college at the Colorado School of Mines. I have been coaching masters swimming at the Colorado Athletic Club for more than 10 years, and this past summer I coached summer club for Mount Vernon Canyon Club. I'm new to coaching high school, but am really looking forward to the opportunity. I'm incredibly grateful that we'll have 3 assistant coaches joining us this year as well. Lisa Morrow, Lori Royal, and Angie Harrington will all be helping create a fun and rewarding season, as well as helping guide me through the daunting new process of being head coach. Lisa, Lori, and Angie - thank you for all the help you've already provided! Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks, Steve [email protected] | 7192385363 Hi All,

A special shout out to Finley, Riley, Taylor and Alyssa for getting a new 3A State Record in the 200 Medley Relay. Finley won gold in both her individual events and there were many other podiums and so many PBs throughout the weekend. Awesome!!! Final results attached. Enjoy a hard earned and well deserved restful Sunday. See you all at the banquet Monday, 2/28, 6pm. (More details to come.) Hope you all had a restful snow day yesterday:) Attached is the 4A Psych Sheet and timeline for tomorrow. Evergreen's Warm-ups are 10:30 - 11:00am, Lanes 7 & 8. Please arrive at the pool at 10:15am. See you there. GO COUGARS!! Some fast racing, many best times, lots of smiles and camaraderie, and even some end of season tears, all made for a great last, in-season meet!
Well done, Cougars!!! First of all, congratulations to all on a good meet this weekend! I know many of these athletes are mid-season and swimming tired, but that didn't stop them from diving in and racing their best! I was especially impressed with the JV swimmers, most all who dropped time, and the many who made it back to finals!!!
Always, kind thanks to the parents who stepped up to the plate, or block as it was, and volunteered to time. Kris, Karen, Amy, Kristin, Bridget and Rachel, your help is invaluable! Results attached. And a huge congratulations to Finley Anderson who got the 100 Fly school record with a 58.08 and the 100 Back meet record at 56.42! That's some really fast swimming and she's only a sophomore!!! I'm sure there will be more records conquered in the next couple years! NEXT UP: **** We are NOT attending the 1/29 morning Last Chance Meet! Instead, we will ALL be going to the 1/29 afternoon meet at Carmody Pool vs. Valor and Stanley Lake. Since Valor is offering JV heats, and it is our last regular meet of the season, I think it will be so much more fun for the team to be together! Tentatively, warmups will be at 4pm with a 5pm start. I am out of town this week, so if you are unable to attend this meet, you need to message Coach Liz, Coach Lori and Coach Angie by MONDAY 1/29, 4:00pm. I will be at the meet on Saturday, however, if you have questions or concerns in the meantime, please direct them to the assistant coaches. GO COUGARS! Coach Lisa |
